Overview

Surgery Multimedia Journal is an international peer-reviewed scientific periodical showcasing novel data across a spectrum of surgical specialties. Audiovisual publications provide a much deeper demonstration of concepts and techniques. Traditional text manuscripts shakle the reader into a linear format. Next generation thinking requires additional perspectives. We hope our journal paves the way of establishing audiovisual publications as a respected format for sharing scholarly work. It clearly takes additional effort and technical expertise to digitally compose these works. As such, audiovisual publications included in this periodical carry a corresponding professional prestige. We hope you enjoy these works and consider contributing.

Aim

Centuries of tradition have fortified peer-reviewed manuscripts as the timeless medium to share novel scientific information. As technology continues to evolve, we are granted broader modalities for information exchange. Multimedia formats are often better suited than manuscripts to share visually demanding procedural information. Therefore, we recognize a need for a high quality peer-reviewed multimedia platform to showcase surgical research and innovation.

Vision

Audiovisual presentations have recently been a valuable part of regional and national conferences, essentially equivalent to a poster presentation on curriculum vitae. Our goal is to create a respected peer-reviewed collection of audiovisual publications recognized by the Library of Congress and indexed throughout the world.
